At least Pikmin 4 was never officially announced, it was just Miyamoto speaking off the cuff.

It's also stupid to have a game skip E3 after being shown at an E3, people have expectations that if you show MP4 and Yoshi last year at E3 this year you are going to show more of them. It's fine to announce a game in advance, as long as you let people know it's in advance.

"I've been told not to share anything about this from PR," Miyamoto laughed, "but I can tell you it is progressing." They did, last year at E3 - 2017 - Miyamoto made a comment saying - PR told me not to talk about Pikmin 4. Mon 2nd Jul "Nintendo's PR people should've told Miyamoto not to talk anymore about it.".It also seems noteworthy that I used to be IronMan28 but needed to create a new account. I'm kind of rambling at this point, but I just felt the need to say that. Also, Reggie saying the 3DS is supposed to lead people into buying a Switch is telling, and not remotely the same as saying they want people who buy a GBA to buy a GCN since those devices had little in common. Since Nintendo's CEO recently said they're "considering" the possibilities of a 3DS successor (which itself is a meaningless statement) it's weird that Reggie didn't really separate Switch and 3DS like they normally separate handheld and console. While that's true, it's also a funny choice of words in some contexts. It's kind of funny how Reggie refers to the 3DS as the old one, but the Switch as the new one. Frankly, there would have been insane backlash if they announced it for their old system and not the new one. As for Metroid, I can see why they announced it like they did. Although admittedly, there isn't much reading between the lines in that interview, he might as well have blatantly said Switch is getting all of the old games it can get, lol.

Much like the Switch replacing the 3DS, people don't seem to be reading between the lines. Reggie makes it sound as though the Switch is the place to be for all legacy content. I feel like the people here didn't read the source article.

But instead they skimmed over most of them like footnotes. They could have had another one and focused more on all those upcoming games, because there are a good few of them. It was a pre-recorded Twitch session, there was no real reason it had to be the length it was. They could have shown other games more, without cutting Smash. But I still hold they poorly balanced their video presentation(s). But I want them, legitimately, on my Switch.Īs for Metroid Prime 4 not being shown at E3, I kind of understand. I don't care which, I will pay regardless. They can be either purchasable as collection, individually like VC or through the Switch online service. While they are at it, I want a Game Boy and Game Boy Advance selection. Give me NES and SNES, N64 and Gamecube classic collections on the Switch.

I don't want more plug and play systems clogging up my TV stand. I absolutely want more legacy content! But I want it on the Switch.
